He called out to his wife, “Darling, is this shirt clean enough for me to wear?” Without hesitation she said, “No.” He said, “How did you know it wasn’t clean enough to wear? You didn’t even come back to look at it.” She answered, “If you had to ask, it wasn’t clean enough!” I can’t tell you how many times over the years I have been asked, “Preacher is it alright for a Christian to . . .?” Or they say, “Preacher, can I . . . ?” You can fill in the blanks with whatever you want and the answer is still the same. “If in doubt, don’t.” When it comes to the question of whether you should do something or not, if it’s doubtful, it’s dirty, so don’t. Unfortunately, most of us don’t give God the benefit of the doubt. We just go ahead and do it.Be like the Psalmist and pray, “Search me O’ God, and see if there be any wicked way in me.” Staying clean, staying pure and staying close are steps in building the spiritual body for Christ. You may mark your calendars for the following events: We will be having Friend Day, March 11, and Dr. Rick Carter will be with us. This will be a great opportunity for us to “round up” our family and friends, so they can hear a clear presentation of the gospel. On March 14, we will enjoy a concert by the Dartt Family. Bro. Tracy is back to traveling and it will be wonderful to see him again and hear the smooth sound of the Dartt Family. If you don’t have a church home, we would love for you to come and visit us this Sunday.
