Funeral services for Robin Del Cox, 75, of Sweetwater, will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Jimmy Don Bennett and Rev. Dwayne Oden officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014, at McCoy Funeral Home. Any pin-up pictures are welcomed to be brought to the family visitation by friends and family to be pinned-up on a picture.
Cox died Friday, May 9, 2014, at his home. He was born Dec. 13, 1938, in Amarillo. He married Vickie Hogue on Dec. 13, 1982, in Sweetwater. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and had lived in Sweetwater since 1940. He attended the University of Texas at Arlington for two years and retired from AT&T in 1988. He was a truck driver from 1990 to 2012. He was a member of Faith Harvest Church.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Cox of Sweetwater; children, Sabrina Brawley and husband Chris of Haslet, Del Cox of Granbury, Chris Coffman and wife Courtney of Abilene, Richard Hogue and wife Melissa of Jonesborough, Tenn., Misty Knowlton of Sweetwater and Angela Turney and husband Randell of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Aaron, Amanda and Brittany Brawley, Taylor, Jayce and Stephen Turney, Major Briggs, Justin, Austin and Stetson Hogue and Nathan Vandee and wife Susan; great-grandchildren, Kristian Vandee and Jakob Hogue; two nieces, Danielle Baker and Rachel Dicocco; and many friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Del Cox on Dec. 2, 1996 and Bobby Cox on Dec. 14, 1999; and his brother, Brian Cox on Feb. 5, 2001.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Lewis, Monte Young, Stephen Turney, Richard Sikes, Randal Combest and Lonnie Clowers.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jackie Lewis, Keith Turney, Bobby Hoover, Lanny Lee, Bud Lewis, Welton Ellison and Clifford Ashley.
