Funeral services for Dolores Wynell Winslett, 77, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at Broadway Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Blake Cemetery in Brown County, under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Winslett died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.
She was born March 29, 1934, in May, Texas. She married Herman Bailey Winslett on Nov. 26, 1970 in San Angelo. Wynell was a retired school teacher at SISD and was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, attended Howard Payne University, San Angelo State and Hardin Simmons. She had lived in Sweetwater since 1970.
Survivors include her husband, Herman B. Winslett of Sweetwater; sons, Michael Shane Winslett of Sweetwater, Kenny Turney and wife Tracy of Sweetwater and Keith Turney and wife Louise of Sweetwater; sister, Saundra Mayo and husband Benny of Red Oak, Texas; brothers, Weyland Snipes and wife Patty of Hale Center, Texas, Jack Snipes and wife Brenda of Tom Ball, Texas and Tommy Snipes of Brownwood, Texas; aunt, Mickey Mathis of Early, Texas; 10 Grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Worth and Ileta Snipes; and granddaughter, Questie Turney.
Pallbearers will be K.T. Turney, Randell Turney, Stephen Turney, Justin Jones, James Powell and Curry Bewley.
