Dorothy M. Redden 84, loving mother and grandmother, of Midland passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011.
Dorothy was born on Dec. 15, 1926, to Archie Q. Self and Ella Callen (England) Self in Sweetwater, Texas. There was nothing that Dorothy held closer to her heart than her family and her faith. Dorothy was a member of Kelview Heights Baptist Church of Midland and a former member of Broadway Baptist Church in Sweetwater, Texas. She was also a member of AT&T Pioneers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Floyd Redden, Jr., a retired fireman and Santa Fe Railroad employee.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Pat and husband, Carl Stracher, of Odessa, Texas and Clemeta D. Poynter of Midland, Texas; her brothers, Dean Self and wife, Lisa of Kerrville, Texas and Ray Self of Kerrville, Texas; her grandchildren, Chris Millett of Altamonte Springs, Florida, Melissa Butler of Belmonte, Massachusetts, Matthew Millett of Buford, Georgia, Greta Millett of Lubbock, Texas, Terri Stephens of Odessa, Texas; and her great-grandchildren, Nicky, Mason, Hunter, Allison, Corey, Brenton, Noah, Kyle, Amanda, Julie and Caleb.
Family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26, 2011. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 at 3 p.m. at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
