DPS Trooper seizes over 34 pounds of marijuana

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted a traffic stop Tuesday on IH-40, yielding over 34 pounds of marijuana valued at over $211,000.
At approximately 4:22 p.m., a DPS trooper conducted a traffic stop on a 2014 Nissan Maxima passenger car traveling eastbound on IH-40, for a traffic violation, near Vega in Oldham County.
The occupants of the Maxima were identified as Mynor Ivan Arana, 26, of Houston and Nourak Chanthalangsy, 32, of Fresno, Calif. During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered 32 bundles of marijuana in the trunk.
Arana and Chanthalangsy were placed under arrest for possession of marijuana over five pounds but less than fifty, a third-degree felony, and booked into the Oldham County Jail. The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Fresno, Calif., to Norman, Okla.
