DV, Everman to play on Saturday

August 30, 2013

Two perennial Class 4A high school playoff teams make a return appearance at Mustang Bowl Saturday.
El Paso Del Valle and Everman play at 6:30 p.m. in the Bowl’s first game of the year. They were part of the Sammy Baugh Classic last year, playing the finale with Everman winning by a score of 48-10, but will not be in the Classic this year.
Everman, a member of District 8-4A, has made 14 straight trips to the playoffs and is favored to do so once again under coach Dale Keeling. The Bulldogs will try to improve on a 5-6 record last season. Del Valle, despite losing to Everman a year ago, was 8-3 overall and is favored to win its fifth consecutive title in District 2-4A.
