The East Ridge Elementary School PTO, with the help of students, teachers and parents, held many fundraisers throughout the 2011-2012 school year to be able to purchase new equipment for their classroom teachers.
The East Ridge PTO raised the funds necessary by holding their annual ABC Pie Sale, several popcorn and pickle sales, The Santa Shop and PTO also ran the concession stand at the Mustang Bowl.
East Ridge PTO was able to purchase MimioViews for 14 teachers and also purchased four MimioPads for the other four classroom teachers who already had a MimioView. PTO actually gave the teachers a survey as to what equipment or supplies they most needed and the majority of the school's teachers selected the MimioView Document Camera.
The teachers are so appreciative and are enjoying their new equipment. Teachers are able to put any object or a flat piece of paper under the MimioView Document Camera and it enlarges it and puts the picture up on the whiteboard on the wall for all the students to see.
Teachers are also able to zoom in on an object with the camera. The camera's gooseneck arms can capture different angles of an object as well. Shown is Mrs. Edmondson's second grade classroom with the MimioView Document Camera.
