A man wanted in a Sweetwater shooting was arrested Sunday afternoon.
Eduardo Echegaray was taken into custody by Sweetwater police at about 4 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 Block of Woodruff Street.
According to Sweetwater Police Chief Brian Frieda, police received information that Echegaray was hiding at a residence in Sweetwater. Police went to the house on Woodruff Street where the owner of the residence surrendered Echegaray without incident.
Echegaray was booked into the Nolan County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Echegaray was wanted in connection with a May 30, shooting in the 700 block of Bluff Street where the victim, 32-year-old Merced Flores, was found suffering from an apparent shotgun blast to one of his legs.
