Eight local athletes selected to play in FCA all-star games in Abilene, B’wood

Shelby Cason is one of 8 local athletes selected to play in all-star games with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes this summer

Eight Nolan County high school seniors will play in a total of three all-star games as part of the Big Country Chevy Dealers-Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-Star Festival this summer.
Sweetwater will be rep-resented by Kendra Crosson in the fifth annual FCA girls basketball game on June 6 in Brownwood; by Shelby Cason, Kelsi Crosson and Suede Shirley at the first-ever FCA volleyball game on June 8 in Abilene; and by Tadeo Canon-Masjoan, Ryan Linebaugh and Nick Nemir at the 14th annual FCA football game on June 8 in Abilene.
Kendra Crosson was cho-sen to the North squad for the basketball game, which will tip off at 6 p.m. June 6 at the Brownwood Coliseum and be followed by the first-ever FCA boys all-star basketball game at 8 p.m.
Cason, Kelsi Crosson and Shirley were all chosen to be on the North volleyball team. Sweetwater coach Liz Miller will serve as an assistant coach on the team. The game begins at noon on June 8 at Abi-lene Christian University’s Moody Coliseum.
Roscoe’s Landon Jones will join Canon-Masjoan, Linebaugh and Nemir to play for the North team at the football game, which is considered the crown jewel of the weekend and will be played at 7 p.m. on June 8 at Abilene’s Shotwell Sta-dium. Shane Mobley, head football coach and athletic director at Sweetwater, will be an assistant coach for the North all-star team.
