Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Elidia Palafox Aguilar, 75, of Sweetwater, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Father Charles Okonkwo officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at McCoy Chapel of Memories, recited by Lupe Medellin.
Aguilar died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Sweetwater Healthcare Center. She was born Mar. 7, 1937, in Roscoe. She married Pedro R. "Pete" Aguilar, Sr. on Aug. 25, 1958, in Sweetwater. Elidia lived in Sweetwater most all her life and was a housewife and life member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She was a member of the Guadalupanas.
Survivors include her sons, Pete Aguilar, Jr. and wife Lynn of San Angelo, Miguel Aguilar and wife Mariana of Sweetwater and Robert Aguilar of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Tisa Jasson of El Campo, Texas, Ashley and Laura Aguilar of San Angelo and Gioia Aguilar of Abilene; twin sister and best friend, Manuela Torres and husband George of Sweetwater and sister Alicia Flores and husband Joe of Cleburne, Texas; brothers, Martin Palafox and wife Toni of Grand Prairie, Joe Palafox and wife Josie of Grand Prairie, Luis Palafox and wife Eufemia of Cleburne and Rufugio Palafox and wife Dora of LaVerne, Calif.; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 26, 2004; and parents Rufugio and Juanita Villa Palafox.
Pallbearers will be Joe Palafox, Jr., Joe Flores, Jr., Greg Torres, Jr., Mark Palafox, Matt Figueroa and Bo Bugarin.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Trey Figueroa.
