Funeral services for Ellen Hoskins, 85, of Sweetwater, will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Keith Clower officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Hoskins died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010, in Sweetwater.
She was born April 7, 1925, in Snyder, Texas. She married Horace Hoskins on Sept. 8, 1943, in Snyder. She had lived in Sweetwater since 1944, and worked for Sweetwater High School in the cafeteria as a cook and server, retiring in 1990. She was a longtime member of Highland Baptist Church in Sweetwater.
Survivors include her husband, Horace Hoskins of Sweetwater; son, Randy L. Hoskins and wife Shelly of San Marcos; daughter-in-law, Craglene Hoskins of Sweetwater; one sister, Barbara Bryant of Snyder; two brothers, Travis Bryant of Graford and Herman Bryant of Palo Pinto; two grandchildren, Leigh Petty and husband Rolan and girls and Dusty Hoskins and wife Tracy and sons; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Dean Hoskins on Jan. 22, 1968, and Wendal Ray Hoskins on June 2, 1995; two sisters, Margaret Goodwin and Georgia Mae Allen; and two brothers, Alvin and Lyman Bryant.
Pallbearers will be Greg Allen, Gary Bryant, Terry Bryant, Ronald Young, Jerry Fry and Les Cothron.
