Emmanuel Fellowship Church announced the addition of a new team member to their staff. To help meet the needs of continued growth, Irene Escobar is filling the newly formed role of Associate Children’s Pastor for the church. "Irene has been an essential part of the Emmanuel Fellowship Children’s ministry for the past several years, serving as a classroom teacher and volunteer. Her faithful service has helped create the new ministry position she will now fill," said Pastor of Emmanuel Fellowship Church Eric vonAtzigen
As part of their vision to minister to families in the region, Emmanuel Fellowship has recently added full children’s ministry to their 9 a.m. service. Children will now have their own worship time and age-based classes for both the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services.
“Miss Irene,” as the children call her, is also a current employee at J.P. Cowen Early Childhood Center, helping to nurture young children. Before that, she worked for several years at Sweetwater Christian School. Irene and her husband, Elias, are the parents of seven grown children and have 11 grandchildren.
Emmanuel Fellowship’s Children’s Pastor, Lorin Lopez, says, “Irene has been serving our kids for many years, and her love and dedication to the kids is such a blessing. I’m so thankful to have her as a part of our team.”
