Employee's mega-production clears out overdue cases

"Timelier work is one of the foundation blocks of Texas' reinvented human services eligibility system, and workers like Sammy Alvarez have had a lot to do with the improvement we've seen over the past few years," said Alvarez's award nominator.
According to his nominator, Alvarez recently provided outstanding customer service when he helped completed 437 overdue cases in the Houston area with the Health and Human Service Commission.
"Sammy works with the TIERS onsite support unit and travels across the state providing assistance and training to hundreds of employees," Alvarez's supervisor added. "His remarkable performance in Houston is a good example of how his outstanding work ethic and personality make him a real asset to our team."
