Encompass Home Health in Sweetwater hosted a fan drive, giving away box fans free to the public on Friday, June 29, at their local office, located at 1008 Lamar Street.
Encompass Home Health staff identified a need for this service while making home visits in and around the area. They noted that many of the elderly did not have air-conditioning or simply would not run their air-conditioner because of high utility costs.
Encompass Home Health has been in business in Sweetwater for 11 years and has 100 sites in the United States. Their mission statement is A Better Way To Care and this is an excellent opportunity to embrace that by meeting a real need in the community.
The local branch purchased the majority of the fans through a grant received from the Encompass Cares foundation; a fund established by the company through payroll deductions from willing employees.
Encompass wishes to thank other local businesses for their generous donations toward the purchase of these fans including Hendrick Medical Supply, Maloney’s Pharmacy, McGlothin Medical Supply and Wal-Mart.
