Era Helen Cagle

February 26, 2011

Era Helen Cagle, age 86, of Sweetwater, passed away on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at O'Donnell Cemetery in O'Donnell, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Era Helen Cagle was born in Borden County, Texas on Jan. 12, 1925. She was given lots of love from her mom, Lovie Rains and her grandparents, Riley and Helen Rains. Helen Cagle became a very loving great-great grandma, called "Granny" by everyone. Helen married her husband Bernest W. Cagle on June 8, 1942, in Tahoka, Texas and had two sons, Jammie Lewis Cagle and Larry Keith Cagle, Sr., both went to sleep in death before Helen. She worked as a farmer, carpenter and waitress before retiring.
Despite having a stroke 13 years ago, Helen had a very full life — concerts, movies and even getting her first passport at the age of 82 to travel to Old Mexico. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her.
She is survived by grandchildren, Cindy Larsen and husband Roger of Sweetwater, Kathy Cagle, Lewis Dean Cagle, Jammie Lane Cagle, Scott Cagle of Sweetwater, Larry Cagle, Jr. and wife Michelle of Tyler, Shawn Sharrock, Wendy Gage, Fonda Balthrop, Tammy and Dwaine Miller and Missy Blackburn; great-grandchildren, Jessica Aguirre and husband Albert of Snyder, Rayce Cagle, Faith Cagle, Cody Cagle and Tonia Bond; and cousin, Venita Bledsoe of O'Donnell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.R. and Lovie Graham; and two sons, Jammie Lewis Cagle and Larry Keith Cagle, Sr.
