FFA students advancing to area competition

On Monday evening, Nov. 5, students from Sweetwater High School (SHS)--who are part of the local FFA (Future Farmers of America) program--took part in the Lone Wold District FFA Leadership Development Event (LDE) contest at Western Texas College in Snyder.
Twelve of the SHS students who competed will now be advancing to the area competition slated for Nov. 17. They are Kyle Lambert - Job Interview; Mackensey Hayes, Sean Morrow, Blake Young, Cameryn Jones, Kyle Lambert, Larissa Locklar and Stephen May - Chapter Conducting (parliamentary procedure); Kyle Lambert, Cody Chapman, Mackensey Hayes and Leah Warren - FFA Quiz; and Stephen May, Blake Young, Jay Lomas and Caroline Brennan - Farm Skills Demonstration.
Other individuals and teams that competed include Alyssa Soles - Greenhand (Jr.) Creed Speaking; Morgan Browning - Senior Creed Speaking; Maddie Howard and Colton Scott - Job Interview; Shelby Cason, Kelsi Crosson, Blayne Ferguson, Matty Montgomery, Morgan Whitley and Sean Morrow - Radio Broadcast; and Sean Morrow, Cameryn Jones, Larissa Locklar and Morgan Whitley - FFA Quiz Team 2.
"All of these students worked very hard to prepare for this contest and did an excellent job representing Sweetwater," said Katy Harkey, the Agricultural Science teacher at SHS.
