Finn shines in HSU win

January 28, 2013

SHS alum Alicia Finn

Alicia Finn of Sweetwat-er, now a freshman on the Hardin-Simmons women’s basketball team, had the best game of her young college career Thursday.
Finn, a 6-0 center, had a career-high 15 points and was 7-for-7 from the field, while also making her only free throw attempt, in HSU’s 76-75 double-overtime victory over Schreiner at HSU’s Mabee Complex.
Finn nearly doubled her previous high (8 points) set against LeTourneau in a 66-62 win on Jan. 5.
Finn twice won first team all-district and second team all-Big Country honors in basketball during her high school days at Sweetwater. At HSU, she has played in 13 of the 18 games and averages 2.9 points per game. Her field goal percentage of .682 is by far the best on the team and she has also made 80 percent of her free throws, which ranks fourth best on the team.
