Former resident named VP of MWH Global

Matt Garcia

Former Sweetwater resident Matt B. Garcia was recently promoted to Vice President and Principal Client Service Manager of MWH Global, a leader in wet infrastructure and water engineering, based in Broomfield, Colorado.
Garcia was born in Loraine, Texas to Matilde F. Garcia and Felipa Bonilla Garcia. The family moved to Sweetwater when Matt was very young. He attended Sweetwater High School where he played football and ran track. Garcia graduated in 1981 and then attended McMurry University where he received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1986. He lived in the Dallas area after graduation and was hired on as the North Texas Regional Manager at MWH in 2007. He was promoted to Vice President on Aug. 23, 2013.
Garcia's family include his sisters, Ann of Oklahoma City, Mary of Roscoe, Della of Sweetwater, Gladys of Missouri, Esther of Amarillo, Dorothy of Waco, Golda of Wylie Dallas and Geneva of Abilene. He had two brothers, Joe and Gabriel, both of whom have passed away. Garcia also has a son, Matt D. Garcia, Jr., who is a pharmacist in the Houston area.
