Frances R. Smith

Frances R. Smith, 85, of Sweetwater, passed away, on Tuesday November 9, 2010 at Stonecrest Assisted Living. She was born on April 5, 1925 in Rayville, Lousiana. She married J H Smith on March 25, 1948, in Houston, Texas.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Walker and husband David of Sweetwater; her sister, Alma Wooderson of Alvin; her grandaughter, Ashley Walker of Sweetwater and two grandsons, Brad Walker of Austin and Michael Smith of Houston.
Frances was a member of First Baptist Church in Kerrville and enjoyed her church work as a Sunday School teacher, singing in the choir and doing volunteer work for many years. She had lived in Sweetwater, since 2006 coming from Kerrville where she lived since 1961. She retired as the Director of Kerr County Children’s Day Care Center for over 25 years.
Services will be on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 10 a.m., at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Kerrville, Texas. Mrs. Smith will lie in State at McCoy Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning before taking her to Kerrville, Texas, for funeral services. Interment will be at Garden of Memories in Kerrville. Family will receive friends at Grimes Funeral Home in Kerrville, Friday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m..
Frances is preceeded in death by her husband J H Smith, on October 6, 1993 and a son Roy Edward Smith on August 3, 1991.
Services are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home, in Sweetwater.
