FUMC to collect items for clothes closet

March 21, 2014

Do you have any clothes that you don't wear anymore sitting around in your closet? Do you have older linens, blankets, shoes or pillows that aren't being used anymore?
Would you like to have those things make a difference in the life of someone else?
The youth of First United Methodist Church (FUMC) in Sweetwater will be driving around town this Sunday, March 23, from 3-6 p.m. collecting clothes for their church's Clothes Closet. Specific items include shoes, socks, backpacks, linens, pillows, caps and all sizes of clothing.
"We will be wearing shirts with a sheep on them (that is our mascot), so be looking for us on Sunday," said Stephen Gehring, the youth and outreach pastor at FUMC.
While they will not be able to go to every house in Sweetwater, anyone who has items to be donated to the Clothes Closet may call the FUMC church office at 325-236-6617 and give their address.
