Stephen and JulieAnn Gehring

Sweetwater First United Methodist Church welcomes Stephen Gehring, the new youth minister at First United Methodist Church, and his wife, JulieAnn. Stephen, originally from College Station, and JulieAnn, of Graham, moved to Sweetwater in late April. The couple both graduated from Southwestern University, where they first met. JulieAnn majored in History and Education while Stephen studied Communication and Religion. The Gehrings moved to Colorado shortly after getting married in the spring of last year, where they had been living prior to Sweetwater.
Despite the change in scenery, both say they are “happy to be back home (in Texas)!” Stephen’s favorite pastimes include golf, sports of all kinds and music while JulieAnn enjoys learning new things, animals and the outdoors.
“We think that Sweetwater is the perfect place for us,” says Stephen. “It’s a great town and has even better people. We are excited to become part of this community.”
The couple is already settled in their new home and making summer plans for FUMC’s youth group.
"We hope you watch for them around town, and help welcome them to our Sweetwater community," said FUMC Pastor Brian Brownlow.
