Members of the community are staying cool this summer and students are enjoying time off from school by visiting the Sweetwater Municipal Pool. The pool opens every year on Memorial Day weekend and stays open until the day before school starts back up. This year, that day is August 24. Days and hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday from 1-6 p.m. and the cost is $2 per person. Family nights are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for $5 per family or $2 per person. The city pool is also available for party rentals, Friday through Monday. A gas grill and paddle board, provided by TSTC, are on-site for party rentals as well. Opened in 1978, the pool holds 165,000 gallons of water and takes a full 24 hours to fill. Future plans for the city pool include building a canopy over the main pool, similar to what is over the child's pool area. Lifeguard training, including first-aid, CPR, and AED are all offered on-site. Shown above and below are children enjoying a day at the city pool.
