Funeral services for George N. “Junior” West, Jr., 85, of Richfield, Idaho, formerly of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014 at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Reverend Frankie Santiago will officiate and interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
West died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at his residence in Richfield.
He was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Knoxville.
He was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Junior had lived in Sweetwater for 25 years before moving to Idaho where her lived for the past 11 years. He enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music and watching Western movies. His nieces and nephews loved their “Uncle Junior”.
Survivors include his brothers, Jessie West of Richfield, ID, Jack West of Penrose, NC and Jim West of Leroy, OH; sisters, Beatrice Arnold and husband Arthur of Ft. Wayne, IN, Mathilda Gibson of Sweetwater, Marie Chverchko of Painsville, OH, Faye Baichtal and husband Ron of Fernley, NV and Phyllis Brinkman of Sweetwater; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, George N. West, Sr. in 1988; his mother, Bertha (Ballard) West in 2003; a sister, Jane Lescallett; and a brother, Paul West.
Pallbearers will be Rick Gibson, Gary Gibson, Dusty Gibson, Sean West, Dylan Baichtal and Hunter Smith.
