Girls Scouts from Sweetwater and Roscoe braved the hot weather to spruce up Camp Boothe Oaks for future camping adventures. The workday was a success even though the heat got close to 100 degrees before the girls finished. Girl Scouts and volunteers from the community participated. Lion’s Club members also helped. After clearing roadways of briars and dead trees for wider paths, painting and cleaning out the fire circle, all the volunteers were treated to a lunch with homemade ice cream for dessert. The next workday will be in cooler weather, slated for September or October.
