Sweetwater girls' powerlifting results

Sweetwater’s girls power-lifting team placed second overall and had two individual winners Saturday at a meet in Grape Creek.
Sweetwater’s individual winners were Loni Mendez in the 181-pound class and Joslyn Rosas in the 220-pound class. Mendez lifted a total of 760 pounds, while Rosas lifted 730 pounds.
In addition, Mendez had the second best bench press (99.42) and second best dead lift (186.42) among all lifters in the 165-to-220-pound weight classes. Also placing individually for Sweetwater were Cari Aguilar, third in the 148-pound class (640); Alexis Thompson, fourth in the 114-pound class (500); Allie Zavaleta, fourth in the 123-pound class (590); and Kimmie Lomas, fifth in the 132-pound class (510).
Grape Creek won the meet with 27 points to beat out Sweetwater, which fin-ished with 22.
