Golfers shine at Lamesa

Sweetwater High School’s girls golf teams played well in a tournament at Lamesa on Tuesday. On the back row are members of the varsity team that shot 362 to place first at the tournament, easily beating out second-place Lamesa by 63 strokes. From left are Rachel Hunt (93), Elise Lawrence (83), Alex Gomez (83), Amy Witt (103) and Haylee Stewart (104). Seated on the front row are members of the JV golf team that finished third at Lamesa after shooting a 444 total. From left are Caroline Lawrence, Meagan Car-ney, Alexis Castillo, Sier-ra Hernandez and Laney Wallace. The next competition for both teams is this Wednesday at Abilene Wylie for the first leg of the district tournament at Maxwell Golf Course.
