Funeral services for Golia Faye Williams, 81, of Snyder, were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rick Williams officiating. Interment followed at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wright Colonial Funeral Home. A visitation was held from 6-7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at Wright Colonial Funeral Home.
Williams died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Cogdell Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 24, 1929, in Longworth. She married Roscie Williams on Nov. 10, 1950, in Hermleigh. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and taught Sunday school at Hermleigh First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Rick Williams and wife Terri of Snyder; three daughters, Kathy Riggs and husband Dwayne of Denver, Colo., Darlene Eckert and husband Nelson of Snyder and Carlene Lee and husband Steven of Snyder; 13 grandchildren, Dwayne Riggs, Angela Trowbridge, Ross Riggs, Lori Cogliandro, Staci Lee, Shaye Williams, Ricky A. Williams, Nicki Riggs, Johnnie Stansell, Jason Eckert, Janet Cummings, Cody Lee and Matt Williams; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Freddy Armstrong of Broomfield, Colo.; two sisters-in-law, Juanita Grover of Snyder and Izora Browning of Midland; four brothers-in-law, Wint Williams of Odessa, Fred Williams of Abilene, Ted Williams of Post and Tommy Williams of Belgrade, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Franklin and Dura Lee Owens Armstrong; and by her husband, Roscie Williams.
