Grace Willoughby Henson, age 90 of Sweetwater, Texas went to see the Lord, Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Grace was born to the late James L. and Laura G. Willoughby, on April 9, 1921 in Roswell, New Mexico.
A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at McCoy Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 27, 2011, at Broadway Baptist Church, with Rev. Chris Stephens and Rev. James Baker officiating. Graveside rites will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Gordon Bell, Neal Goates, Ray Davison, Dewey Baxter, Leon McElyea and Clyde Wagner.
Survivors include her daughter, Martha Bland and husband Ted of Jacksonville, Arkansas; son, Sonny Willoughby and wife Kay of Houston, Texas. She has four grandchildren, Dan and Clay, Mike and Debora; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Alfred L. Willoughby on Feb. 13, 1994 and Cliff Henson on Jan. 13, 2007; three brothers; and two sisters.
She lived in Sweetwater for 72 years and had been a member of Broadway Baptist Church for 72 years, serving the church in many different positions. Grace retired from 7-11 Auto Supply after 33 years of service as a bookkeeper. We are saddened by the loss of our mother, grandmother and friend, who owed us nothing, but gave us everything. Her open warm heart will be missed dearly.
