Grand Jury hands down indictments

A total of 13 indictments were handed down by the Nolan County Grand Jury on Tuesday, with seven of those indictments sealed.
Lucas Anderson Turner was indicted for indecency with a child by contact, a second degree felony. Court papers state that the child was younger than 17 years of age. The date of offense was March 7, 2011. His bond was set at $12,000.
Nancy Amber Burns was indicted for evading arrest with a vehicle, a state jail felony. The date of offense was March 10, 2011. Court papers state that Burns fled from Sweetwater Police Officer Mark Webb. She was also indicted for endangering a child, a state jail felony. Court papers state that Burns put a male child under the age of 15 in imminent danger by evading arrest with a vehicle while the child was an unrestrained passenger. Her bond was set at $5,000 for each indictment.
Christopher Lawrence Flores was indicted for driving while intoxicated, a third degree felony. The date of offense was Feb. 17, 2011. Court paper stated that Flores had already been convicted of driving while intoxicated on three separate accounts including on Aug. 16, 2006, in 32nd Judicial District Court; on Dec. 15, 199, in the Nolan County Court at Law; and on May 14, 1996, also in the Nolan County Court at Law. His bond was set at $5,000.
Larry Dean Simmons was indicted for driving while intoxicated, a third degree felony. The date of offense was Jan. 31, 2011. Court paper stated that Simmons had already been convicted of driving while intoxicated on two separate accounts including on Aug. 28, 2009, in the 42nd Judicial District Court in Taylor County; and on July 16, 1196, in the 118th Judicial District Court in Howard County. His bond was set at $5,000.
The sixth open indictment was that of Shay Walker on aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the stabbing of Carvin Coy Lemmons.
