Ground breaks for new police station

A groundbreaking ceremony took place on Thursday afternoon at 400 E. Avenue A in Sweetwater — the site for the new Sweetwater Police Department.
Sweetwater Chief of Police Brian Frieda and Sweetwater Mayor Greg Wortham spoke at the ceremony, saying that the new building has been a long time coming and construction is expected to be finished by December.
