Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Guadalupe Reyes, 90, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Charles Okonkwa officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A rosary will be said Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at McCoy Chapel of Memories.
Reyes died Monday, May 7, 2012, in Sweetwater.
She was born April 14, 1922 in Roscoe, Texas. She married Mariano Reyes on May 3, 1942, in Loraine. Guadalupe was a homemaker and a Certified Nurses Aide working for Holiday Nursing Home for 15 years. She lived in the Champion area most of her life, moving to Midland for two years and Pecos for two years. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Guadalupanas.
Survivors include her daughters, Louisa Jacques and husband Daniel of Sweetwater, Mary Reyes of Abilene and Christine Carmona of Houston; sons, Ascension Reyes of Burkburnett, Texas, Isidro "Sid" Reyes of Sweetwater, Ruben Reyes and wife Vicki of Canton, Texas, Bobby Joe Reyes and wife Mary of Colorado City and Raymond Reyes and wife Diana of Monahans; 13 grandsons, six granddaughters, and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 30, 1996; a grandson, Jeremy Jacques on April 1, 2012; one sister; five brothers; and her parents, Guadalupe and Delfina Reyes.
Pallbearers are grandsons Wendall Joe Reyes, Bleu Boy Reyes, Rodney Earl Reyes, Rey Mark Reyes, John Ryan Reyes and Thomas Nicholas Madrid.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of her other grandchildren.
