Angel Flores

Later this week, an important decision will be made about who will care for a 4-year-old boy found along the side of Interstate 20.
Angel Flores was found in Sweetwater covered in cactus spines. He was then taken to a Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital where he has been recovering.
Police say his father, Carlos Rico, choked him and left him to die on the side of the road.
Rico says a divine power told him to kill his son. He's behind bars on $500,000 bond, charged with attempted capital murder.
Since then Flores has been in the care of Child Protective Services. Now, on Thursday, there will be a hearing in Nolan County to determine who will get custody of Angel.
Numerous people have come forward volunteering to care for the child after hearing his harrowing story.
