The 2011 Sweetwater Heart Walk will take place on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at the Sweetwater Mustang track field. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. An informational breakfast was held this week with speakers telling about the local heart walk and heart disease. One speaker was Scott Lambert (right). His son, Zane (left) was born with a heart problem. At nine days old he had open heart surgery to fix a pinched aorta. Lambert stated that he was never limited by the operation and is currently a student at Sul Ross State University in Alpine. Lambert stressed the importance of events such as the heart walk, to raise money for research, as well as the importance of awareness of the disease.
