Maryneal, TX — Hettie Taylor, 70, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011, at her home in Maryneal. At her request, graveside services only will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger, Texas on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 10 a.m. directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
The family visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday evening, July 10, 2011 at McCoy Funeral Home, 401 East Third in Sweetwater, Texas.
Hettie was born to Zid (Nanny) and Mildred (Dobbie) Herring on Feb. 9, 1941, in Ballinger, Texas. She married Jackie H. Taylor on Aug. 1, 1958. He preceded her in death April 7, 2000.
Survivors include one son, William and wife April Taylor of Maryneal, Texas, three daughters, Tracie Tibbetts of Tyler, Texas, Terri and husband Mark Hudman of Miles, Texas and Tammy and husband David Posey of Rotan, Texas; three sisters, Joy and husband Dalton Owens of Maryneal, Texas, Jo Ann Herring of San Angelo, Texas and Billie Jean Herring of San Angelo, Texas; one brother, E. S. and wife Jean Herring of Maryneal, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Mitchel, Matt, Mae, Mason and Macie Taylor of Maryneal, Texas, Ashley Wiman of Denton, Texas, Tiffany Mingee of Tyler, Texas, Jack Adams of Fredericksburg, Texas, Wendye Hartzell of Washington, DC and Taylor Posey of Rotan, Texas; six great-grandchildren, Skylar Mingee of Tyler, Texas, Paige, Makenna and Kennedy Hartzell of Washington, D.C. and Emma Adams and Ashton Eckert.
She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Samantha Dean Tibbetts; and one brother, Zid Herring, Jr.
The family wishes to express our sincere gratitude to Chasity Rogers, Mary Quintana, Eva Lomas, Rosa Gonzales for the excellent care you gave our Mother.
