Highland to host meet the teacher, Big Blue Preview

Highland Independent School District will be hosting their annual Meet the Teacher night and Big Blue Preview on Thursday, Aug. 22. There will be several activities during the evening including a brisket sandwich meal, meet-and-greet with teachers and an introduction of the football players and cross-country runners. 
From 5-7 p.m., the Highland PTO will be serving brisket sandwich meals in the cafeteria, $6 per plate for adults and $4 per plate for children fifth grade and younger. They will also have several door prizes. 
At 5:30 p.m., Highland High School Principal Karry Owens will give a brief technology orientation. All students entering 7th grade through 12th grade and their parents need to attend. 
From 6-7 p.m., teachers will be in their classrooms to meet with this year’s students and parents. Elementary teachers will have sign-up sheets available for parent responsibilities for annual parties and events. 
Big Blue Preview will begin at 7 p.m. where coaches will introduce the fall sports athletes and the high school and junior high cheerleaders and twirlers will perform.
