Ten students from Highland High School were inducted into membership of the National Honor Society in a ceremony held at the school.
Members were selected by a Faculty Council for meeting high standards of scholarship, service, leadership and character.Â Â Â
Students inducted were Sierra Allen, Adrienne Gonzales, Michael Hyde, Morgan Monroe, Cristina Natha, Bailey Nervig, Beth Richburg, Preston Rowlett, Sophia Stice and Tarin Weldy.
âOur National Honor Society members are chosen for their exemplary contributions to their school and community,â said Leigh Petty, chapter advisor. âThese inductees have repeatedly shown their commitment to their grades, their willingness to do community service and their desire to uphold Highlandâs high standards.â
The Highland High School Chapter has been active since 1994. The National Honor Society ranks as one of the oldest and most prestigious national organizations for high school students. Chapters exist in more than 60 percent of the nationâs high schools and, since 1921; millions of students have been selected for membership. Millions of dollars in scholarships have been awarded to senior members since 1945 by the sponsoring organization, the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
