Hoyt House hosts patriotic celebration for residents, families and staff

July 13, 2013

Candy Nunn, Leta Frances Springfield, Billie Weston, Amaz Webb, Martha Diggs and Louise Feaster enjoy visiting while having a meal at a cook-out hosted by the Hoyt House as a Fourth of July celebration.

The staff at Hoyt House hosted a cook-out and potluck for their residents and their families to celebrate the Fourth of July and to show their patriotic appreciation for the freedom in the United States of America. Burgers and hot dogs were cooked by staff members Blanche Gentry and Heather Atkins. The house was patriotically decorated with an assortment of red, white and blue flags and other décor throughout the common areas. The staff served a variety of tasty dishes and desserts prepared by residents' family members. The meal was topped off with a trio of different flavors of classic Blue Bell ice creams. Everyone joined in on the fun in the dining room and some relaxed after dinner on the patio enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surrounding from the array of colorful flowers in the courtyard.
