Incoming agriculture teacher contributes to Texas students

July 14, 2012

Latimer Burnett of Sweetwater won the Champion Hampshire Light Weight Division with her barrow "Ernie" at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show. The barrow was purchased from Corey Rains.

In March at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show, Latimer Burnett won the Champion Hampshire Light Weight Division with her barrow "Ernie".
Ernie was a Certified Texas Bred Pig and was purchased from Corey Rains of Lamesa, TX, a Texas Breeder that is supporting Texas students.
The Certified Texas Bred Registry is now in its 14th year of rewarding 4-H and FFA students who purchase their show swine from Texas Breeders. During this time, CTBR breeders have contributed over $320,000 in premiums and prizes to thousands of students that raised Certified Texas Bred Pigs.
Latimer is the daughter of Brent and Melanie Burnett of Sweetwater. The Burnetts want to welcome Corey and his family to Sweetwater, as he will be teaching at Sweetwater ISD as an ag teacher.
