Irene Gordon LeFever, age 81, of Roscoe passed away Monday, March 17, 2014, at a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Roscoe with Reverend Juanelle Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at the Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
She was born Sept. 18, 1932, in Bastrop, Texas to the late Santiago and Alicia Galvan. Irene was a longtime resident of Roscoe and owned and operated the Dairy Fluff Restaurant there for 45 years with her husband Amos. She had also been a nurse’s aide in Bastrop, Texas for about five years. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Roscoe. Irene married Amos Gordon on Aug. 2, 1959, in Loraine, Texas and he died Feb. 3, 1987. She then married Donnie LeFever Jan. 3, 2004 in Lockhart, Texas.
She is survived by her husband Donnie of Roscoe; daughters. Lea Ann Williams of Hermleigh, Texas and Lori Ann Keeton of El Reno, Oklahoma; her sisters, Carmen Evans of Loraine and Pricilla Salazar of Simi Valley, California; brothers, Santiago Galvan of Los Angeles, California, Mario Galvan of Abilene, Texas and Eddie Galvan of Loraine. She is also survived by three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 11 nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by her son Reverend Bobby Gordon in 2007; a sister; and a brother.
Pallbearers will be Kirk Galvan, Rudy Vallejo, Noe Galvan, Daniel Galvan, Mario Galvan and Eddie Galvan.
