Holy Mass of Christian Burial services for Isabel Mendez Luevanos, 67, of Roscoe, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A rosary will be recited by Pauline Gauna and Connie Palacios at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories.
Luevanos died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at her residence in Roscoe.
She was born Nov. 6, 1943, in Karnes City, Texas. She was married to Eusebio Luevanos. She worked as a home health aide for Outreach Home Health for one year. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She had lived in Nolan County since 1980.
Survivors include her husband, Eusebio Luevanos of Roscoe; daughters, Patricia Rangel and husband Domingo of Roscoe, Gloria Chavez of Roscoe, Mary Gutierrez and husband Johnny of Sweetwater, Isabel Velesques and husband David of Sweetwater and Irene Chavez of Edinburg, Texas; sons, Danny Chavez and wife Cindy of Lubbock, David Chavez of Abilene, Texas, Ramon Chavez of Sweetwater, Andy Chavez, Jr. of Sweetwater, Mike Chavez and wife Jessica of Roscoe; grandson, Harvey Flores and wife Amber of Roscoe; brother, Bruno Mendez of Kansas; sister, Lupe Aleman of Granger, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lorenzo Mendez, Jr.; mother, Catalina Gonzales Mendez; grandson, Ray Chavez; grandfather, Lorenzo Mendez, Sr.; grandmother, Virginia Hernandez Mendez; and aunt, Petra Cantu.
Pallbearers will be Juan Ramon Chavez, Andy Chavez, David Chavez, Mike Chavez, Danny Chavez and Harvey Flores.
