Jackets, jeans needed for BSSH patients

Coats are among the biggest need right now at Big Spring State Hospital.

BIG SPRING – Big Spring State Hospital patients need outfits to keep themselves warm during the cool fall weather and the approaching winter season.
Jackets, coats, jeans and men’s shoes are the biggest need right now, said Melissa Adams, Big Spring State Hospital Program Coordinator.
Big Spring State Hospital patients often arrive at the hospital with one set of clothing. The hospital depends on the community for donations of gently worn clothing for the patients, Adams said.
Clean items should be taken to the Community Relations Office near the south entrance of the hospital, 1901 N. U.S. Hwy 87. Clothing that can not be used by the patients will be taken to the hospital’s Chalet Resale Shop for sale to raise money for patient needs.
Men’s clothing and larger-sized clothing are always in need, Adams said.
For more information, call Adams at 432 268-7730.
Big Spring State Hospital is a 200-bed psychiatric hospital serving people with mental illness in West Texas.
