Funeral services for Jackie Virginia Hicks Harrell, 77, of Sweetwater, will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, at McCoy Chapel of memories with Rev. Chris Stephens officiating. Cremation is under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
There will be a family visitation on Friday, Jan. 11, from 7-9 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
Harrell died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
She was born Sept. 18, 1935, in Roscoe, Texas. She was a long time member of Broadway Baptist Church. She worked as a cashier at the Village super market for many years before retiring. She was a life long resident of Roscoe and Sweetwater and also was a graduate of Roscoe High School.
Survivors include her daughter, Lori Dooley of Sweetwater; son, Randy Harrell of Sweetwater; sister, Shirley Pounds and husband Glenn of Levelland; grandsons, Jesse Dooley of Sweetwater, Cole Dooley of Sweetwater and Brandon Harrell of Blackwell; and a great-granddaughter, Virginia (Gina) Dooley.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Terry Scott Harrell and Bradley Harrell; brother, Mike Hicks; and her parents, Jack and Violet Harrell.
