James Albert Jones, age 72, of Blackwell, Texas passed away on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at Blackwell Cemetery with Rev. John Curry officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
James was born on March 8, 1939 in Gorman, Texas to Claud Glen and Mary Estell (Smith) Jones. He married Shirley Elois Hall on Nov. 20, 1964, in Blackwell, Texas. He worked for Schwerman Trucking as a mechanic for many years before retiring. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Blackwell First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Debbie Pate of Blackwell, Texas, Pam Alley and husband Rick of Blackwell, Texas and Jamie Clem and husband Weldon of Sweetwater, Texas; son, Johnny Jones and wife Stephanie of Roscoe, Texas; grandchildren, Michelle Rivera, Michael Pate, Melissa Guelker, Kevin Jones, Shelby Alley, Cole Alley, Bella Jones and Stormy Jones; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Trace, Craig Alan, Jacob, Dameon, Tatum and Sydnie; sister, Gladys Croker of Comanche, Texas; brother, Tommie Jones and wife Ivana of Comanche, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jones; parents, Claud and Estell Jones; and brother Allen Lee Jones.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, from 6-7:30 p.m.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Rhoades, Billy Harris, Ronnie Harris, Larry Roland, David Pickrell and Wes Taylor.
