Jaycees spreading Christmas cheer

December 23, 2011

Santa distributed gifts to each person and was greeted with handshakes and hugs from the clients at the annual Christmas party for MHMR clients, hosted by the Sweetwater Jaycees.

The Sweetwater Jaycees held their annual Christmas party for MHMR on Thursday night, Dec. 8, 2011 at the Sweetwater Elks Lodge. The Jaycees prepared and served a chicken strip meal and dessert to all in attendance.
The group ushered in the appearance of Santa by singing "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." Santa distributed gifts to each person and was greeted with handshakes and hugs from the clients.
The annual MHMR Christmas party hosted by the Jaycees has spanned over 20 years, with a new party chairman each year. This year's chairman, Clint Parks, noted that the party is a way the Jaycees can give back to the community, notably MHMR.
This year, the Jaycees were able to provide an ornament and gift card to every client at the party.
