Funeral services for Jeffrey Alan Woods, 20, of Roscoe will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories.
Rev. Frankie Santiago will officiate and burial will be in Palava Cemetery. Services will be directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater. Mr. Woods died on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, in Roscoe.
Born in Abilene on Oct. 14, 1990, Jeffrey was a graduate of Sweetwater High School in 2008 and was active in the Spanish Club, Drama Club, FFA judging teams, past president of Lone Wolf District FFA and member of the National Honor Society. He was very active with showing animals in the Nolan County Livestock Show and had been active in Nolan County 4-H. He received a full scholarship to Texas Tech University from the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo Association. Jeffrey made the Deanâ€™s List at Texas Tech and his judging team placed second in wool judging. He had lived in the Sweetwater area most of his life, and he was currently a junior at Texas Tech.
Survivors include his mother, Lolly Bradbury of Roscoe; a son, Patton Alexander Woods of Trent; two brothers, Dakota Bradbury and Mason Bradbury of Roscoe; his maternal grandparents, John and Kay Whitworth of Sweetwater; his maternal great-grandfather, H.D. Bunn of Sweetwater; his maternal great-grandmother, Jean Whitworth of Sweetwater; and three aunts, Kristi Bunn and Raymond Cantu of Rotan, Trudi Parber of Santa Rosa, Calif. and Sabrina Whitworth of Clyde.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Deloris Bunn, and maternal great-grandfather, Howard Whitworth.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Zimmerman, Tanner Kelley, Justin Shaw, Matt Graff, Tatum Harrison and Craig Corley.
