Jesse Alfred Lawhon, age 77, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Jesse Alfred Lawhon was born on Sept. 4, 1935 in Champion, Texas to Marion Coleman and Annie Lorene (Ussery) Lawhon. He was a Baptist. He worked as a truck driver and also a brick mason for many years before retiring.
He is survived by two brothers, Bill Lawhon and Jackey Lawhon, both of Sweetwater, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; one daughter, Joyce Keretze of Las Vegas, New Mexico; and two grandchildren, Jessica Keretze and Lyle Keretze, both of Las Vegas, New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Coleman Lawhon and Annie Lawhon; two brothers, Coleman Lawhon and Johnny M. Lawhon and one son, Jesse Alfred Lawhon, II.
Pallbearers will be Rudy C. Hernandez, Juan L. Hernandez, Jose Roberto Hernandez, John Deleon and Henry Gonzales.
