Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Jessie Joe “Queco” Costillo will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Father Charles Okonkwo will officiate and interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be said by Lupe Medellin at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at McCoy Chapel of Memories.
Costillo died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, in Sweetwater.
He was born June 3, 1942 in Sweetwater. He married Eva Jimenez on Aug. 1, 1970 in Sweetwater. He loved to sing and listen to music. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Costillo of Sweetwater; son Gilbert Costillo and wife Rebecca of Sweetwater; brothers, Manuel Heredia and wife Ruth of Sweetwater, Luis Heredia and wife Eufemia of Sweetwater and Julian Castillo and wife Celia of Sweetwater; sisters, Juanita Morales of Sweetwater, and Mary Palma and husband Tony of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Shawn Costillo and wife Bethany of Sweetwater, Sarah Costillo of Sweetwater, Staci Costillo of Sweetwater, Danielle Moreno of Sweetwater, Donna Vera of Sweetwater and Cirsti Vera of Sweetwater; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julio Costillo and Salustria Costillo; three brothers; and one sister.
Pallbearers will be Arthur Arzate, Randy Melendez, Louis Torres, Ricky Heredia, Gilbert Heredia and Julian Castillo.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Jimenez, Ricky Reed, Cody Reed, Steven Reed, Raymond Saldivar, Mario Heredia and Tony Heredia.
