Jimmy Ray Thomas, age 79, of Big Spring, (former resident of Sweetwater) passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Roscoe Cemetery with Rev. Matt McGowen officating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Jimmy was born on July 9, 1934 in Big Spring to L.C. and Ruby (Bronson) Thomas. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Korean War Veteran and a Baptist. He worked for Forrester Chevrolet for many years as a body shop mechanic.
He is survived by two brothers, Donnie Thomas and wife Cecilia and Michael Thomas, all of Sweetwater; numerous nieces and nephews, including Michael Thomas and Donella Thomas; and special friends, Welton and Betty Ellison and Todd and Cindy Ricketts, all of Sweetwater.
