Jobs in energy sector fuel surge in Texas employment

A surge in hiring of energy field workers was key to the rise in Texas employment in May, the Texas Workforce Commission reported Friday, but the number of San Antonio employed workers fell.
Texas’ total employment rose by 14,800 in May, lowering the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate to 4.4 percent in May from 4.5 percent in April.
