Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Joe A. Ramirez, 52, of Colorado City will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Michael Rodriguez. Interment is at Sweetwater Cemetery, under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater. Rosary will be on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 4 p.m. at McCoy Chapel of Memories. The rosary will be recited by Pauline Gauna and Connie Palacios.
Mr. Ramirez died Sunday, April 17, 2011, in Sweetwater.
Mr. Ramirez was born Oct. 24, 1958 in Plainview, but had lived in Colorado City the past eight years and before that in Sweetwater. He worked in janitorial services for five years at MHMR, and was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Sweetwater.
Survivors include two brothers, Johnny Ramirez of Ballinger and Isidro Ramirez, Jr. of Sweetwater; two sisters, Ester Ramirez and Mary Ann Ramirez, both of Rosenberg; and nieces and nephews Aaron and Alyssa Ramirez of Sweetwater, Christopher Ramirez of Sweetwater and Athena Ramirez of Rotan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isidro Sr. and Mary Ramirez.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Ramirez, Christopher Ramirez, Steve Adames, Rick Guzman Sr., Henry Guzman Jr., and Edward Cervantez.
